June 29th, 2010

Beat the heat this Summer and save money with an Energy Star ceiling fan. By installing Energy Star fans throughout your home you can raise the A/C as much as 10 degrees and still have the same comfort without using as much electricity. These fans move air 20% more efficiently than standard fans. This can save you up to 40% on your electricity bill. To earn an Energy Star rating, a ceiling fan must meet the criteria for ceiling fans set by the U. S. Environmental Protection Agency.  One of the specifications for a ceiling fan to earn a Energy Star rating is it must have a minimum airflow of 5,000 cubic feet per minute, also known as CFM, and an efficiency of 75 CFM/Watt at high speed.
